Heartbreak City Stripped

Album Design

I liked Blue Water Highway before they were cool. From its early beginnings playing free shows at hole-in-the-wall Cheatham Street Warehouse, to filling the famous Gruene Hall to the brim with old and new fans alike, all the way to opening for Bob Seger, Blue Water Highway has taken center stage in the Americana music scene. It’s been amazing to watch them grow into what they’ve become!

I was so excited when lead singer Zack Kibodeaux reached out to see if I could design the album for their newest record: a stripped version of Heartbreak City, which hits the market in June. While everyone else has been waiting for this much-anticipated release, I’ve been privileged to preview the acoustic versions, which bring me back to the “Cheatham days” in all their raw splendor.

The final result was a moody album design that echoed the bluesy, natural, and intimate sounds of Heartbreak City Stripped. Be sure to check out Blue Water Highway on Spotify!
