Big Sur Pictures

Project Overview

T.J. Berden was gaining a lot of traction with his film consultancy company, Big Sur Pictures, a Los Angeles-based production company experienced in the development, production, marketing and distribution of films with big ideas in search of targeted audiences. As Big Sur continued to grow through LinkedIn and word-of-mouth, Berden was in need of a more public facing identity—a website to begin conversations within his network.

The site would be simple, focused on sharing information that would help prospective clients make an educated decision about investing in Big Sur’s services. These would include information about past projects, testimonials, photo galleries, and more.

Challenges

As the company was still in startup mode, Berden had a very tight budget to work with, within a turnaround time frame of one to two months. Fabelle Creative Co. proposed a responsive, informational website with budget at the top of the priority list, limited to five pages in order to stick within the time frame.

Berden had a logo developed already, and some ideas for the layout of the site, but not much else. With no complete brand guidelines to go off of, Fabelle Creative Co. was able to develop a color scheme, photo treatments, and fonts to use on the website, that captured Berden’s inspiration of Big Sur in California.

Big Sur

This ancient expanse of the rugged California coast is a place where time and space collide, revealing a sense of wonder, mystery and hope. The best stories are those that open a door to a new world. Like the keyhole rock that gave inspiration to the logo, Big Sur Pictures is dedicated to seeking out new horizons for audiences to enjoy.

Continued Work

Since Big Sur needed a website up quickly, but had additional ideas for how to improve it, Berden signed on for Fabelle Creative Co.’s monthly maintenance option. That way, the site could go live, but any time Berden wanted a new film featured, wording change, or photo swap, he could request it and have Fabelle Creative Co. take care of the changes, and act as a point person between all the various software companies involved in bringing the site to life.

“Rebecca is a top-notch designer, who listens and leads with a great design and UX sensibility. I wholeheartedly recommend her for design jobs large or small- you won't be disappointed!”
