Mario Loomis, Author

Responsive-showcase-presentation.png

I wasn't the first author in this family. My dad, Mario Loomis, is on the verge of publishing his second novel: Primordium. With this milestone just around the corner, Mario wanted to take his writing to the next level with an author website. He needed something sleek that encompassed his genre and style, and I believe we found it.

Mario's works are speculative science-fictions that stem from his medical background and explore the transcendent unknown. I started the design process by brainstorming key words that came to mind when I thought of his books: intellectual, moody, dark, intense, spooky, positive, scientific, clean, wholesome, literary, exciting. This led me to decide on using dark tones contrasting sterile white, with a splash of vibrant color, sharp edges, and book-like serif fonts.

For the organization of the site, I spoke with Mario about his goals and target audience to determine how best to reach them. We prioritized the collection of e-newsletter sign-ups from his readers, so he can reach out to them personally when his new book comes out in April. They won't be disappointed. Maybe I'm biased, but Primordium is well worth the read!
